The innovative 310cc engine of the Vespa GTS 310

For the 2025 model year, the Vespa GTS remains true to its proven, distinctive concept. It emphasizes the principle of exclusivity and premium quality, while further enhancing the value and quality of its construction. The new 310 cc engine is more powerful than any previous Vespa engine.

The 310cc HPE (High Performance Engine) improves the performance of the previous 300cc engine, offering more riding pleasure, efficiency, and comfort with reduced fuel consumption. This new engine optimizes the riding experience by combining increased performance with improved ride comfort.

Over 70% of the components of the new 310 engine were newly developed or optimized.

Improved components

To increase power and reduce emissions, the 310 HPE engine in the Vespa GTS 310 receives a larger stroke and a new high-performance multi-jet injector. The 7 mm cylinder offset reduces vibration and noise, resulting in lower engine rpm at all speeds. Furthermore, a higher inertia, a new crankcase design to reduce belt noise, a decoupled starter gear, and an improved starter motor (which also enables faster engine starting) contribute to an optimized rear gearbox design.

This engine not only offers more power, allowing for a smoother ride in the city, but is also more efficient and environmentally friendly, as it meets the EURO 5+ emissions standard.

The new intake manifold and optimized SOHC roller camshaft timing with improved valve lift allow for the necessary engine tuning to increase torque at low revs while maintaining optimal drivability. The offset crankcase contributes to reducing mechanical losses and belt noise. The new CVT calibration, combined with the more efficient drive belt, the more stable clutch drum, and the sound-damping CVT cover, ensures lower fuel consumption, smoother running at low speeds, and reduced engine noise.

The liquid-cooled 310 cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine (+11.5% ) with electronic fuel injection delivers an impressive 18.4 kW / 25 hp (+5.1%), with power available as low as 6,500 rpm (-21.2% ). The powerful torque of 28.9 Nm (+11.5% ) at 5,250 rpm ensures quick starting and dynamic acceleration. The top speed is 127 km/h. = Compared to the previous GTS 300 HPE engine)
